Water Treatment Applications
Water treatment plants are ideal locations for small hydro turbines.
Generally the water flows 24/7 and is relatively clean, and suitable for a hydro turbine.
The downside is typically the head is low, and so the power production limited. To get an idea of your site's potential
you can use the following equation:
Power (watts) =
head (feet) * flow (GPM) * .113
Note that head is measured
from the top surface of the water supply, to the top surface of the tail water.
