About Us

Hello, I thought it would be helpful to know a little about me, and how I got into this business. That is my picture standing next to the turbine test station. This twin inlet turgo style was undergoing final tests, both electrical and mechanical before shipment.

I have always had a very keen interest in alternative sources for energy. In college I designed and built my own wind turbine that had a 27 foot diameter composite rotor on a 60 foot tower. In 1982, my work won some national attention by ASME, and I successfully used the turbine for several years for residential heating. http://www.asme.org/Governance/Honors/SocietyAwards/Old_Guard_Prizes.cfm

After obtaining my Bachelors & Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Union College, I tested and achieved my Professional engineering license in New York State. To date I have been granted 9 U.S. patents, and have published over 20 technical papers.

I became seriously involved with Hydro Turbines when I decided to build a home in a remote area. The local utility company quoted over $100k for the opportunity to install the lines and sell power to me. That prompted my search for hydro equipment, as luckily I have a very reliable stream on the property that flows year round.  The search for turbines went on for two years, with many unforeseen turns. With the help of the Internet, and serious effort, my search literally spanned the world.

To summarize my search, I found that very few Hydro companies were interested in my "small" project. None of them ever tested their products, and their costs were usually outrageously high. These companies built so few turbines that there were no "standard products" each one appeared to be an experiment.

But in the middle of this messy little market, I found a jewel of a company that had everything I sought .... Experience, Testing & certification, standard products, and cost effective solutions. I now handle the engineering for this company and sell their equipment. I would be happy to help you find the right solution for your site and help you to be a success. As you look at this web site, you will find a wide range of proven products.

I look forward to working with you on your project. Thank You for the visit !
